About Faith of Strangers
We are a curator of content that promotes the plagiarizing and imitating of the faith of Jesus.
First of all, to better understand who we are, we want to invite you to follow Jesus down the road of his life and teachings. The way you can do that is easy. In the sacred writings of the Jews you will find four books written about the life and teachings of Jesus. These four books are called...
- The Gospel According to Matthew
- The Gospel According to Mark
- The Gospel According to Luke
- The Gospel According to John
If you choose to follow Jesus into his life and teachings by reading one or all of these books, then we want to give you a challenge. Let Jesus speak for himself. Whether you agree with or believe the things that Jesus has said and done, these four accounts are the only authoritative resources that can perfectly and clearly inform you of who Jesus is, what Jesus was like, what Jesus taught, the miraculous power of Jesus and the reason that he left mankind a record of all of these things.
We believe that Jesus is the center stage of all that God has done as recorded in the sacred scriptures of the Jews.
We believe that if you will allow Jesus to speak for himself then you will find yourself as dumbfounded as those who first heard him over 2.000 years ago.
We believe that you will find the Faith of Jesus is far more peculiar than you had ever imagined.
We believe that you will find the Faith of Jesus is riddled with death defying commandments for the life of those who choose to follow him.
We believe that you will find the Faith of Jesus is riddled with eternal life giving promises for your life in the here and now and even greater promises of a new hope for a new world in an age to come.
We believe that Jesus died, was buried and raised from the dead in order to create for himself a peculiar people that are unlike anything the world has ever seen.
We hope that you will find yourself embracing the Faith of Strangers who have died to this world in order to live a life that is pleasing to Jesus.
34 And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 35 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it. 36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? 37 For what can a man give in return for his soul? 38 For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.” -Jesus, Mark 8:34-38 (ESV)
So, practically speaking, the content you find here will be made up of historical and contemporary material that emphasizes a very simple and literal approach to the obvious meaning of the faith spoken by the mouth of Jesus.
